SPYGEN is proud to announce the launch of a 4-year Industrial Chair awarded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), in partnership with the University of Montpellier.
This Industrial Chair was awarded following a highly competitive selection process, based on a thorough evaluation of the scientific and industrial proposal and its presentation to a panel of international experts. Being selected in this context highlights the excellence, credibility and ambition of the project and of the partners involved.
This Chair further confirms SPYGEN’s pioneering role in environmental DNA (eDNA) technology in biodiversity monitoring and our sustained commitment to be at the forefront of research and development. By combining molecular ecology, artificial intelligence, advanced robotics and satellite data, the Chair will accelerate the development of next-generation solutions for marine ecosystem evaluation and reporting.
Through this initiative, SPYGEN aims to deliver operational, scalable and science-based solutions for key marine stakeholders, including:
• Marine Protected Areas and conservation authorities
• Offshore wind farms and other marine infrastructures
• Ports and maritime activities
• Marine resources management and regulatory compliance
The Industrial Chair will support the development of innovative tools for biodiversity inventories, impact assessment, long-term monitoring and sustainability reporting, addressing growing needs related to CSRD, biodiversity credits and verifiable nature units.
This new chapter reinforces SPYGEN’s ambition: turning cutting-edge data collection and analyses into actionable solutions for users of the sea, while contributing to the preservation and sustainable management of marine ecosystems worldwide.
